Terms of Service

1. About mraav

mraav ("we," "us," or "our") is an online marketplace that connects cat owners ("Owners") with independent cat sitters ("Sitters"). We are headquartered in San Francisco, California. By accessing or using mraav, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.

3. The mraav Marketplace

mraav provides a platform for Owners and Sitters to discover each other and arrange cat sitting services. mraav is not a party to any service agreement between Owners and Sitters. Each Sitter is an independent service provider, not an employee or agent of mraav.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@mraav.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Bookings and Cancellations

When an Owner submits a booking request, the Sitter may accept or decline. A confirmed booking is a direct agreement between the Owner and Sitter. Cancellation terms are set by the individual Sitter and will be disclosed before booking is confirmed. mraav may facilitate communication around cancellations but is not liable for any resulting losses.

6. Sitter Responsibilities

Sitters agree to: provide accurate descriptions of their experience and availability; provide services as described to the Owner; comply with all applicable local laws; and maintain appropriate care for any animals in their charge. Sitters are solely responsible for their tax obligations arising from services rendered through the platform.

7. Owner Responsibilities

Owners agree to: provide accurate information about their cats, including any health conditions, behavioral issues, or special care requirements; ensure their cats are up to date on vaccinations as may be required by applicable law; and pay for services as agreed with the Sitter.

8. Reviews

Users may leave reviews following a completed booking. Reviews must be honest, based on firsthand experience, and must not contain offensive, discriminatory, or defamatory content. mraav reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these standards.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Circumvent the platform to arrange bookings or payments off-platform
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the platform without permission

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mraav is not liable for: any acts or omissions of Sitters or Owners; injury to or death of any animal; property damage; or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed $100 or the amount you paid to mraav in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any Sitter is appropriately qualified for your needs. We encourage Owners to conduct their own due diligence before booking.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on mraav — including the name, logo, design, and software — is owned by or licensed to mraav and may not be reproduced without our written permission. By posting content (photos, bios, reviews) on the platform, you grant mraav a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content on the platform.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by a notice on the platform. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
